Elijah's doing better

Thanks everyone that was worried about Elijah and his rash. It ended up being contact dermatitis, a fancy way of saying something made his skin react. It could have been anything, the chlorine in the pool or maybe the laundry detergent they used, who knows. He still has the rash and probably will for a few more weeks but it's not nearly as red or itchy. Gotta love sensitive skin!

The Rash

So Elijah woke up Saturday morning with this rash. It's now Monday morning and it's still here. We're going to the doctor this morning to see what it is. Not the best photo, but it gives you an idea, it's on his face, nack, arms, chest and back.

Very cool video

I was reading Ali Edwards blog, isn't she just the coolest? Any way she had a link to this video by Five for Fighting, the video features autistic children and different statistics about autism. Check it out here http://www.whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com/videos/view/id/213154

New Dive Instructors

A few weeks back Dave completed his certification to be a dive instructor. I just got my hands on this photo that ran in the paper. Dave is the second from the right. We are all so proud of Dave and glad to see that many months of hard work have finally paid off for him! Just being able to be a scuba diver was a lifelong dream for Dave, now to be able to teach others as you can imagine he's on cloud nine. Congrats Baby!

Spring Break

When planning for spring break we couldn't decide what we wanted to do. We thought about going to Palau, or Saipan and finally decided to stay here and spend a few days at the PIC. PIC has the best water park on the island I think, and it's actually cheaper to get a room for the night then to pay just for the water park which is $80 a person for a day pass. The girls' Brownie troop was planning a night stay there on Wednesday, so it really worked out well. We checked in Tuesday, hung out at the pool that evening and Wednesday until the girls were meeting at

3pm. Then it was jut Dave, Elijah and I until 3pm on Thursday. We let Elijah choose what we were going to do that day and which restaurant to eat dinner at. He chose miniature golf and jumping on the trampoline followed by dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. After dinner we went back to the pool where we saw the girls for a little bit and ended the night with a movie and dessert.

When we got the girls back Thursday we played miniature golf as a family had dinner and basically lounged around. We watched a few more movies and surprised the kids with milkshakes. Friday morning the kids went to the Kids Club, which is this awesome program the hotel has that they entertain the kids for a few hours while mom and dad get to play, and the best part of all? It's free. It was kind of crazy, when we dropped the kids off the workers at the club actually remembered the kids from when we went to Saipan 18 months ago. I didn't realize it then, but the workers switch back and forth between the two hotels every so often, so the kids already knew the people they would be spending the morning with. As always they had a blast, and Hannah actually wanted to spend the rest of the day there, but Caitlynn had baseball practice. While the kids were at the Kids Club Dave surprised me with a massage at the spa. Did I forget to mention the hotel has a full service spa on premises? We both enjoyed facials, massage and body scrubs. I've never felt so pampered in all my life! Do I have the world's best husband or what? Saturday morning we had time for a quick dip in the pool before we had to checkout and go home to get ready for Caitlynn's game. I got these photos then, the kids had a blast jumping in the pool and I had to drag them out of the pool.

Easter Photos

Just a little late posting this, but this past week has been spring break for the kids and we've been super busy. We had a wonderful Easter, it began with sunrise service, I took these photos after it was done. Then we stopped at GabGab Beach on our way home, I had this great last minute photo idea. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. When we got there part of the beach was roped off because of a ship being in, so there goes plan number one, then we decided to try the other side of the beach, but the sun was way too bright even at 8am and the kids were miserable. Oh well, maybe next time. The rest of the morning was spent lounging and getting ready to cook Easter Dinner. Kerrie and Chris and the kids came over for dinner and we had a great time. All in all it was a wonderful day and a wonderful way to celebrate our living Savior.

So Lucky

The storm whose eye was supposed to pass right over Guam, totally changed it's course and we didn't even really get any rain from it. Unfortunately Saipan wasn't quite so lucky, not sure how bad they got it, but they were definitely hit by it.
I've been working on my Scrap Street Star layout for the week. Here was my original entry

I wasn't particularly happy with it, but it fit the criteria and it was done so I uploaded it.

Last night Kerrie came over to scrap and I was working on this Easter 06 page and when I was done I realized it fit all the criterie and I liked it a whole lot better.

So what do you think, did I pick the right one?

A typhoon, WHAT?

No this is not a drill we are really in the path of a typhoon, and yes it still is the dry season. Typhoon season isn't supposed to start until June, but we have a freak storm heading our way. What a way to start Sunday morning. We were five minutes from walking out the door to church when I got the call from Kerrie, thanks by the way or we would've still been getting ready. So after a quick change of plans I headed out for the grocery store instead of the commissary. Lucky for me not everyone had gotten the word yet and it wasn't getting crazy until I was in line to check out. I actually made it out of there in just under an hour, last time we were expecting a storm the line wound almost around the whole store and we were there for over two hours. Then when I got back Dave and I switched off and he went out for gas, propane and some odds and ends I forgot. Unfortunately by that time everyone else was busy preparing also so there was no propane to be found anywhere on base. We still have a bit left, hopefully enough to last until we can replenish.

I just ran our run for cover drill with the kids. Their key word is GO, if they hear me shout GO they are to go in an orderly fashion to the downstairs bathroom and close the door. The only windowless rooms in the House are our bathrooms, and they're also away from exterior walls so they're perfect safe spots. The kids did well, Caitlynn was ahead of the others and made sure they all got down safe and quickly.

Off to call mom and let her know what's going on and not to worry if she can't get a hold of us for a few days. Hopefully it'll be nothing but a lot of rain, but you never know, especially here.
